The male has a brilliant plumage of orange and black, while the female's plumage is more brown and orange underneath. Here we see a pair of orioles weaving their nest in the shape of a bag or basket that hangs from a tree branch. They migrate to the tropics in the winter. The oriole is the state bird of Maryland.
