In this scene, we see the Goldfinches eating their favorite food, thistle seeds. The male is bright yellow and black. The female is dusty brown and black. Sometimes they visit gardens to eat the seeds of zinnias and other flowers. The finch is the state bird of Iowa, New Jersey and Washington.
